Uuuh..uh oh..Have I found a new limitation from the software? I wanted to experiment with a low poly asset and wanted to paint my object with using vertex colors instead of texture as I usually do in Maya. Maya offers a wide panl of options concerning vertex painting and there are some even slick addons for even more…
Texture Paint Layer Manager One way to get around the convoluted way Blender handles 3d painting. Too bad most new users won't look into how to install add-ons either.
I am having this issue in Blender with bump map painting. Has there been any efforts made to solve this issue? https://cgcookie.com/questions/10569-texture-paint-bump-map-in-blender-2-8
@VertexPainter thanks for that tip, it's way simpler than using a material. Shameless plug of an additional weight painting tool for troubling areas where it's easier to use a selection rather than painting: https://gum.co/adjust_vertex_weights
I recently switched to 2.80 and it's been rather nice so far. However, is it possible to disable lighting when weight painting or vertex painting? There used to be an option for that in 2.79 but I can't seem to find it anymore.
In the sidebar in the Item tab. You need to have vertices selected though. And the mesh needs to have a weighting applied. Or this panel will not show. It shows in edit mode and in weight paint mode. In Weight paint mode you need to be in vertex selection mode and have a vertice selected. It will not show with face select…
I've actually been working on a paint demo video that people have been harassing me to do for months. Painted this entirely in Blender, but yeah, Blender's paint system still has a way to go. It does have a reprojection feature not a lot of people are aware of that is pretty cool:…
Always nice when my videos inspire people. I really didn't expect even 10 views when I threw them up. GSoC Paint branch has fixes for a bunch of your issues. Wire view is toggleable; Mirror painting and color picker is fixed. You can usually find builds over at Graphicall.org (GSoC-Paint). These are videos he made for his…
On the subject of 3D texture painting inside Blender - is anybody using it for that proper? At least 4K texture resolution- and UDIM support, performance that holds up with a few assets and texture-layers in the scene. Guided/lazy/smooth strokes, a paint engine with at least basic brush dynamics, stencils, stamps, clone…
