Here's some sculpted bricks for my piece for Eat3D's Old and Damaged contest. Ignore the strange arrangement of them, as they're positioned like that for baking purposes. Any critiques are certainly welcome.
Yeah I understand. I've tried messing with them a little bit but can't really figure it out. If I give the faces nearest to the camera their own smoothing group, the bricks look too hardened. They are meant to look a little soft. Here's a shot up close, each brick now has it's own smoothing group. I need to adjust the UVs…
I agree about the scale thing in Prophecies' environment, the big bricks do make the place look rather tiny and I think you could keep it's chunkiness while scaling them down a bit.
Redid the medieval brick wall I have been working on since the first one sucked ass. I'm much happier with this attempt so far. Still trying to decide if I should add more to the diffuse or not.
I think you should add some fallen leaves to the ground, no too much but it should help break up that tiling brick... or maybe some grass coming through, something to punch a bit of colour in there. I like the trees :)
