So I've got a problem whit this whole UV's for the lightmaps... More of a lazy-related problem. Thing is that I put all the pieces of the corridor together already in Maya and just exported the whole thing. Fair enough I thought, since it was faster for me to do it that way, and I'm new to workflow in UDK. Sooo If I were…
kk, another question i wanna have the feeling of a puddle and it draining towards the drain, my first thought was to alpha the whole thing out and use a lerp in the material, but im not sure how to create the reflection for the water/puddle? is there a tutorial for this? or can anyone give me the jest of it?,
Grimm: The instances will be better as a whole, IMO, since you'll only have 1 static mesh loaded into memory. The first way will require 3 or 4 unique static meshes to accommodate all of the UV sets. In both cases, you're looking at 12 draw calls so no savings there.
I'd rig the car like UED does vehicles, bring out clips (turn left, turn right, stop *body lurch forward). Bring those clips into Matinee and that's it. If you need to move the root around move the root. Don't move it in Max. There is an option in Unreal for root bones moving. If you know how to build and control animation…
Yeah, it's pretty irritating. Wouldn't be nearly so bad if it mipped properly per-pixel rather than popping an entire degree for the whole asset at once. Either way, though, lightmaps are usually so low resolution it doesn't seem like a good idea to mip them, and certainly not so aggressively.
It was an article i read a while back that weather patterns are not created using a particle effect due to a heavy load on the processor for a whole maps weather , although as ive got no experience with this matter i didnt know whether it was true or not? either way, particle or not im happy with any snow effect :D
Anyone having trouble installing I am. I have tried a whole host of troubleshooting suggested at the UDK forums and figured I would see if anyone here could help. I start the install as administrator and it stops about halfway through with "UNsetup" has stopped working.... Any suggestions would be much appreciated…
Hello, I'm working on a bunch of objects and was wondering if I could get some insight on how textures vs whats on the screen is handled. Say if I had modeled a spoon and a box, however the box was on screen and the spoon wasn't, but they are sharing the same texture maps. Now my question is does this waste memory because…
Yeah indeed. I was testing out those different luts for color grading and apparently they do change a whole lot. It's a pity that setting this up is kinda strange. Turning it on in your uberpost and then adding the lut in your world post processing settings or post process volume. That should be a lot more logical if it…
