you can do it within the scene. if you drag your meshes into the scene and then drag the materials onto them (or go into the properties and set the material) then it will apply to all, but that would be only for the scene, not within the content browser
when you create a level, there is usually a package sharing the same name as whatever you call the level. if you are using an external package, be sure that it is referenced in the content browser before you open up the level.
This page got switched to public, we use it to post news related to content creation http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/ContentBlog.html -Rhino sorry I got nothing on nav meshes that's more of a coder/LD thing :\
I also have a Saving question. I save packages here? C:\UDK\UDK-2010-06\UDKGame\Content and i save my scene files? C:\Users\KELE\Scenes\ as an example. is this ok?
myPeople: that looks like the UT damage indicator, check your post process chain and see if there is a material node the PP chain drawing it. definitely odd for it to just turn on :o With saving, I would recommend: - save content in UDKGame/Content/YourStuff/, tho Users may be more efficient if you're updating UDK a lot,…
Oh, wow, thank you so much :), the window on the right was only showing half of the content, so it just looked like a bunch of random numbers. Now i realise that they actually have have labels next to them.
make sure you save your packages as well as just the level (if you use the save all feature it will do that for you). if your files are not in the default content folder, then you must load a package before loading the level.
My vote would be for the info to go into the Wiki-- much easier to hunt down specific info if it has it's own page and a link within the Table of Contents. And so my question doesn't get lost in the ether, Any TDs out there have any advice on rigging for the UDK? Original Post here.
Probably a silly question with an obvious answer but...previously I'd select some BSP faces and click a material in the browser to apply that material. Now, it only seems to apply a material to a face if I drag it from the content browser on to the face in the editor...one face at a time only. What am I missing?
Hm...ok that helps a little. -Are you doing any custom scripting? -Are all your packages and maps saved inside of the UDKGame/Content/ folder? -Are you streaming/loading sub levels? -Are you using a custom Gametype other than UTGame or UDKGame (if you don't know, then you probably aren't)
