There was a bug in max 2010 which was subsequently fixed in a service pack AFAIK, have a look if you are up to date. All shader materials lost their maps when dragged to a new slot for quit ea while :( It's not the shader's fault! :D
i dont see the cubemap at all in the viewport. it says its loaded. im also running 64-bit win7 3ds max 2010. and i also made my own cubemap so its not the one from xoliul's site.
It works in 2010 but I needed to disable soft viewport shadows in max to get shadows on the Xoliul shader. I cant seem to figure out how to get the ambient IBL to work correctly. I'm probably just doing something wrong.
I can tell you straight away that won't be the case officially, it might work, but I have to cut support somewhere. All the new features i'm introducing are also very unstable in 2008, so you're recomended to get at least 2010.
Mime: yeah, I think the light issue was discussed a page or two ago in this thread. Basically, its 3ds max fault, and it has been fixed in 3ds max 2011. Which is great, because that really bugged me as well with 3ds max 2010.
How i can use the shader with shadows in max 2010? The non-shadow version works fine, but if i select the other my model appear as a red wireframe. I have selected the hard shadows in the config. and turned them on in the Viewport. Any idea?
Works Great Dude, I can't believe I'm just seeing this now. The shadows don't seem to be working in Max 2010 though, and If you turn on the realtime shadows by enabling hardware it messes up alpha maps. No big deal though, Great Work!
Super, senor-cojones! This does unfortunately mean I've pretty much hit the limit in terms of options for the user bitmap: it is definitely, I tested it and works fine. Better even than Max 2010 because that bug where it forgets selected lights upon file reload, is fixed.
Sam, I just mailed you about this, should provide some answers I think. I'll repeat it here for other people: Since it seems more of a generic 3D error, try updating your drivers to the latest version, especially on laptops these can lag behind many versions. I suspect this could be the main cause. See if older versions of…
It does work fine in 2010 here, I've worked extensively in it with the shader the past weeks. I'm suspecting your Radeon is just too old, and to be honest, ATi has a reputation of doing all sorts of weird stuff with shaders in Max. It's been many times that the only conclusion for problems with my shader, was the use of an…
