1- make cylinder 2- select edge ring 3- connect 4- select the new loop 5- chamfer (from 1 to 2 edges) so you have now 2 lines in the right place 6- select the 2 new loops 7- chamfer both with the same value 8- select both poly rings 9- extrude inwards with the same value
I feel like I'm completely missing the point of the challenge, but isn't it just an extrusion straight out from the primary capsule and a bevel at the connecting ring?
Going way back to bitmaps example. http://www.edgesize.com/pics/tutorial.jpg How do I achieve that in Max? I thought there was a plugin someone was talking about to do such? You know so I select the edges I want to divide/chamfer and get quad corners. Without having to manually select each edge ring and make an edge loop…
Hi, I am wondering the best way to extrude this pipe turn's ring along the pipe without creating hidden poly inside the ring. This is a single piece of mesh. I can think of a few ways to do this but none of them seem elegant: either I will have to delete some pipe polys and bridge again, or I have to move edge or add edge…
No need to model it flat now...you already have it. Take one ring from the wheel part and the tread that will fit in there and just make those a single piece. (See pic) Keep the center at the center of the wheel and rotate copies around when done and weld. You may have to use multiple rings or treads depending on how they…
