Minolta 500mm F8 AF mirror lens. I think its the only one of its kind. Bokeh can be a bit weird(as with any mirror lens) but its a 1.5 pound "hand-holdable"(if you have enough light) 500mm lens! ~750mm on aps-c! Weeeee Funky bokeh: Plenty of sharpness/contrast though, which was surprising to me.
The priority i make adjustments if theres a big change in the environment is this 1ISO 2shutter speed 3aperature Theres so many factors to take into consideration its hard to really advise.. sometimes i will take shots with twomsolutions asnit were.. a higer iso to get sharp stills.. then lower the iso and lower the…
This is nice bokeh you have going on there EartQuake but yeaa what would you expect from f1.4 :) When they calibrate your lens dont they need your camera as well? Was it front/ back focusing before that? I have the older af nikkor f/1.8 and sometimes I have problems with the auto focus when at f /1.8 but then again every…
Yeah thats at 1.4, which has an awesomely narrow DOF. Sharpness is good at 1.4, definitely usable, very good when you consider just how small of an area is actually "in focus" at 1.4. At about 2.8 it is razor sharp, very nice lens. A couple more shots at 1.4: Really, not much more you could ask for as far as sharpness from…
Yeah I was really happy with that! Old Sigma 50mm 2.8 macro, with tamron 1.7x TC = 75mm macro lens. I'm a little surprised by how sharp it is through that TC, very happy with the performance there. Makes a nice alternative to the more expensive Sigma 70mm 2.8 or Tamron 90mm 2.8 lenses, even if its really a ~4.0 or 4.5, I…
Reading it bit more, it seems like people are saying the 550D has about the same per-pixel noise as the 40D, which means a pretty huge gain in sharpness and resolution, when sizing both down to a small size. In theory atleast. Imo, noise performance and resolution(not MP, but how much detail can actually be resolved) are…
Cool Chrizz1. I think I want to try a film camera and some Fuji Reala 200, I really like the colors that setting gives me in DXOmark, so I want to see if the real thing is as nice. Plus good film cameras are cheap here in Germany. Seaseme, no problem. I use only 2 lenses, a 35mm and an 85mm. Both of them are extremely…
Notman : it depends on what kind of low light shots if its people generally you'd use a lens with the widest possible aperature 2.8 or below are good low light and keep that wide open. Generally ISO should be as low as possible, but it depends on the camera that youre using. with shutter speed you have to balance depending…
Thanks alot man! appreciate it! :D this one is probably one of my most succesful photos atm! Ive spend an hour between mice, from 30 cm away up to 2 meters, this took long, so even if they are used to some people walking by, sitting/standing still is really key to succes here. (meaning, besides your head, you do not moving…
Thanks, man! The lense I used for this shot is the AF-S 50mm F/1.8. Seriously, it should be the first lens you get. This prime lens is INCREDIBLY sharp, and works WONDERS for low-light shots. It lets you shoot with pretty low ISO, and still maintain a good enough shutter speed for things in motion. I use this lens for…
