had to make an alternate texture for the falx, this time with a bronze handle mostly the same NM, the pattern at the top of the handle was generated from simple floating geo.
[ QUOTE ] almost done... magic bullets... that float. any crits? im trying to build up a portfolio for texture artist position. [/ QUOTE ] the one on the right kinda... reminds me of something
Looks great killingpeople! What is this floating geometry technique? The only thing that bothers me are the scratches. I can't put my finger on it, since it seems logical they have specular hl to them.
Bingo. There's a Quake4 art artile on it as well, Lord. Though for a character or object mesh, you obviously wouldn't want to float the meshes THIS far apart: http://www.iddevnet.com/quake4/ArtReference_CreatingTextures Actually, they show a character here as well: http://www.iddevnet.com/quake4/ArtReference_CreatingModels
update, doing an oblivion type ruins. it looks kind of plain though, any ideas on what props to add to it? keep in mind the lighting should help breakup the monocromatic look a lot, and i am obviously not done (which explains the end of the world ), and ignore the floating pillar...
Something about the way his wang connects to his groin bothers me, I always seem to comment on your model's wangs... Anyway yeah, looking really improved man, nice work. Maybe soften up the transition halfway down the forearm, I like the legs. What's with them floating blobs? Cheers.
I've been working on a few textures I had floating around in my head today. They're geared towards use in a space craft/station. Right now I have 4 completed. I figured I'd post them in here, get some feedback perhaps. The image is a bit large (1024x256). All 4 are setup side by side: And here they are. :]
