Calling it here on the sari textures. Not entirely in love with the pallu and the border transition but I've got to get this project wrapped up and it's purely a matter of taste so, moving on. I decided that, considering the blouse will be fully embroidered along with all the bling-bling, it might be best to keep the sari…
Got the jewelry done. Just did a test bake of the white bead-strands though and results aren't so hot. These are baked onto a plane basically like you would a hair card. Geometry would look best of course, especially from certain angles, but I think that would just be overboard. We are already pretty high on the polycount…
Final : https://www.artstation.com/alexjavor ************************************* Hi, I've been around here about a year now and want to say thanks to the community in general. Doubtful anybody here knows how much knowledge I've picked up from you guys since I first began. At least half of what I know about 3d right now…
Compromised a bit on tiger design... thing about doing fur cards all over is then you really got to do them all over, and having 200k tri's of fur cards I think really isn't feasible for an animated character. So I did similar to before, just in select spots for the silhouette. But it's still pretty realistic for the…
Durga will be in the same style as the tiger -- basically as realistic as I can manage. Although she's got a ton of details with the saree and the jewelry, I hope it won't take me as long the tiger since I have more or less done everything before that I will be doing with her. Not too much to experiment with, I should be…
Just working on the ground piece and final lighting. Should have this wrapped up tomorrow. This presentation isn't part of the Durga scene. I want to present the tiger on it's own in a natural setting since I've put so much time into it. So, I'll take some time to build a few leaves and a better texture for the ground…
Started this over from the ground up a couple times now. Initially I had been working from some anatomical models -- more or less copying what I saw -- but after spending a lot of time watching tigers in documentaries, I felt like I wasn't really getting the look I wanted. So, I learned a lot by studying the tigers anatomy…
I'll be sure to do that. Won't be until after I'm finished though cause I'm using all my brain juices figuring out a lot of this as I go along. Unreal seems daunting at first but if you try out some of the tutorials on basic material creation from Quixel on youtube, you'll probably enjoy it alot. Coming from Unity…
I just received an in depth review of my work which I submitted to the Rookies 2019 competition. I thought it was very helpful and well worth the price ($54), as it was a pretty in depth review -- about 20 minutes worth -- from not just one person but nine industry professionals. I'll give a paraphrase of the key points…
