@renderhjs Can't make it work... I open Blender, add Suzanne, use Smart UV Project on her and try to bake. Both Cavity and Dust just fill islands in black. I also try to make the mesh more dense but it changes nothing. Hard to say what I'm doing wrong if there is only so few steps to recreate it :P I really like the idea…
@Mant1k0re I think that the rectifying is done at a UV level not aware of the orientation or scale in your 3D mesh. As such it is very relativ and works with the input orientation / scale of the UV selection. Will hopefully investigate a bit more on this stuff now that 1.0.0 is out. @wannabe Didn't make it into 1.0.0 but…
Hey @renderhjs Any chance you could have the ID map functionality create vertex colours instead of materials? I often have to bake Zbrush exports together with Blender exports, and while I prefer baking from materials in Painter, Zbrush's polygroup colours make that harder (they're often extremely close to eachother in…
TEXTOOLS 1.6 NEW RELEASE UV LAYOUT * Stitch added, an accelerator to the vanilla UV Stitch operator which preserves the position of the original selection and can sew multiple edges from multiple islands and objects at once. * Align World improvements: added Axis option to gain control on the tool when the global…
@mospheric i do keep a spreadsheet where i catalog every addon or change i make to blender. This helps me better understand why i use some addons or changed settings, especially with 2-4 computers i use blender with. I'll pm you with some personal suggestions. @Gazu: No update anytime soon for 3dsmax. Should i have to work…
@Michael Knubben Yes this is now possible, I made changes to many operators to also work from within the 3D view instead of just the UV image editor. Here is an overview of current menu integrations (top: UV image editor, bottom: 3D view) @armagon That's just a mask, think of it as an edge detector. Just look at this…
This latest version of Textools is super awesome in baking. It has all the bake types I need to create a PBR material. I've decided to try baking out planks onto a low-poly mesh. I've used a cage to bake out the perfect normals. However, baking out the AO and the displacement is another story. On the right is the high poly…
I used TexTools back in the day when it first came out for 3dsmax. It sped up my UV workflow a lot, thank you for the initial release, very inspiring! I've been looking at Blender the past couple of years too and decided to make the switch to blender last year. Seeing your effort creating TexTools deserves a very big…
About 8 years ago I created TexTools for 3dsMax. A lot of stuff hapennend in that time and just last year I started seriously learning Blender. Eventually I decided to create another TexTools for blender as UV & Texturing is a passion mine and seriously sucks in most 3D packages. Download & Documentation…
@SaintSellotape Been working on some new stuff after your feedback Align World I have been working on a new tool call 'Align World' . All it does is rotate the selected UV islands to match world orientation. The tool determines orientation for 6 direction thresholds (e.g top view, side views,,..). This is a great tool for…
