It is not a big deal just wanted to make sure I understood what you are trying to figure out. When you setup the project do you have the create base layers option checked? This option will automaticly create a layer for each color in the id map for you.

Ran into a bug, replicated the issue a few times, time to report. DDO crashes when click the little box on the right of the layer if I have already created a mask in the Dynamask editor. EDIT : only DDO crashes. Works fine if I click the box before I create a mask. Has anyone else run into this?
I think DDO deleted all my Photoshop patterns. Users might want to back those up and devs might want to look into that.
