Started modeling all the muscles on top of the lion skeleton. Already learned a ton about animal anatomy, still a lot of work to do tho. Hoping to look into muscle simulation once I am finished.
Crazy improvement. That's a very well spent 3 years of work :) You still can learn a lot about face anatomy and if you haven't already, I suggest getting some 3D scan and using them as references only. You can just pop it in your zbrush file and move it on the side while sculpting, after a while your brain will make a…
A very quick (30 minute-ish) dynamesh sketch of a skull. Created completly from imagination to test my current state of anatomy knowledge and spot areas which need improvement. Will probably have more time for sculpts the next weeks :)
@Felixenfeu Thanks for your comment! You are totally right, reference is essential for learning and using 3d scans for learning purposes sounds like a great idee, have been using them to study body muscles but not for face anatomy yet, have to try that :)
Decided to start building a female basemesh I can reuse later on. Right now mostly trying to get proportions right, a lot of the anatomy/muscles is not properly blocked in yet. As I want to reuse this for future projects I would be really thankfull for feedback :)
Continued working on my basemesh, started blocking in the head. Next are ears and eyes, then some adjustements on the body (something is wrong with her clavicles/chest area, have to figure out what) amd after that I'll be doing a retopo and start a more final anatomy pass.
okay, take it easy. last thing you want when you are starting out is to do speed sculpts. take your time, learn things right, get the basics down -- then you can do speed stuff. also, "not really worrying about anatomy", you should at the beginning.
There are also problems with the shape of the lips in all of your heads so far. The corners of the lips are too sharp and they don't roll over and tuck correctly. Take a look at this example: https://www.anatomy4sculptors.com/anatomy/xlarge-Head-neck-Block-outs-145.jpg There's a lot more useful information on this site,…
Oh, now that you both mention it, starting with anataomy REALLY makes a lot more scence. I think I was so much in my Yay-I-want-to-create-something-rush, that I totally ignored the most important things... So anatomy practice and large forms ot is, starting tomorrow. Thanks for your advices :D
@Shyralon I'm currently starting to learn character modeling myself and the human anatomy is killing me zzz. Your progress over the past year gives me inspiration! The sketch studies of the muscle system was nice. Something that I definitely need to do! I'm also loving the Garrosh sculpt! Are you going to try a full body…
