[SKETCHFAB]159adea17da346ff87ecfc9f3be98ae3[/SKETCHFAB] Here is a rock I made yesterday for my Abandoned Swamp Environment I'm actually really happy with it. Spent some time going through this thread and picked up some good tips. It's sculpted in ZBrush using mainly the Trim Dynamic and Trim Smooth Border brushes. I made a…
@Narticus: Thanks !. Shape was made with clip curve, brushes used are claytubes and trimsmoothborder + square alpha. Some minor trim dynamic/hpolish. I didn't use much alpha noise in zbrush, i extracted the normal for that from the photo texture and mixed it in photoshop. This tutorial shows it very well…
@ Brygelsmack, as previously stated he used Trim Smooth Border, square alpha and focal shift almost at -100. I'm sure hes using other techniques as well, I'd be interested in his workflow. Its most likely more than one rock as well, so don't look at it as one huge mesh, but as more than one mesh.
Well, until I figure out how to properly bake, here's some zbrush tests I did using the Trim Smooth Border brush with a square alpha and Clay Buildup, with a bit of Orb Crack. As seen here [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Auk3mKdKEwg"]Zbrush 4 quick rock sculpting with TrimSmoothBorder - YouTube[/ame]
I have been thinking about making a video, problem is my sculpting isn't really planned out and I do a lot of useless sculpting, go back etc, sculpt over, so It's not really a process I want to show off haha, but I will give it some thought. the layering is very easy if you use the trim smooth boarder brush, thanks for all…
Jonas: I've started to notice this also. I've also noticed that when I started out and was duplicating the mesh around to make it larger I was also scaling up my brush which would give me larger details but lose that feeling that it is a big piece and I'd basically end up with a rock looking the same size but more dense in…
All great brushes that I use a lot. :) Also, depending on the rock's structure, I sometimes like to finish the sculpt off with some quick strokes of Crumple. Trim Adaptive with a square alpha is good for initial shapes too, but be sure to dynamesh a lot. Also, here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7ZPC9pN8YY…
@Makkon @lamb It was a pretty simple process for making the rock face. I only used Jonas's brushes with this one. No sculpting really on my side. What I did was is I built up the forms with Jonas's larger detail brush and made those base forms interesting. Then I started using some more of the smaller detail brushes to add…
Greetings....Monsoon here. I'm a content creator for Vue Infinite and I use Zbrush for modeling environmental objects. I've been working for some time now on rocks with the trim smooth border brush both positive and negative and with square alphas and I can not for the life of me get the planar cleavage I see on the rocks…
not too bad for your second rock. have you used a reference image for it? the main thing about it is it looks really soft and blobby looking. what brushes are you using? try using brushes like trim smooth borders with a rock alpha(you can find it in the lightbox) adding some surface noise can help as well. Also your…
