Hello there! Been following this thread for a long time now and it just occurred to me that I have worked on some rocks of my own. These were for a stylized student project. Zbrush Sculpt: Marmoset Render: In engine: https://www.artstation.com/artist/gubble
damn WrichWK those are very cool stylized rocks. Can you post a link where were can see more for Arc Squadron? I want to see the application of these textures as well as the overall art direction of the environments. Textures look very cool
Noob on the rocks! I'm fairly new to sculpting and what not, learning blender at the moment. Trying to get that stylized, low poly look but seems there is so many ways to go about replicating that look. What method do you guys suggest when it comes to this type of rock?
tomorrow I'll be Adding a new Set of brushes for zbrush, and I'll be adding some Rocks as Ztools that you can use as mesh insert brushes or to use together with your own rocks. you find my old brushes at https://www.artstation.com/artwork/zbrush-brushes-stylized-rock
Sure I can do that for the next one, but trim smooth borders is my main brush with a square alpha. I also use some of the damage alphas from this guys 18 rock brush pack. Most of them are a bit too stylized for realistic rocks but there are a few I really, really.
Working on some heavy stylized rocks: I used a simple box as a base which I then fractured into chunks with PhysX Destruction and then picked the best locking chunks and arranged them to this rock formation and then sculpted mostly just the details in the Zbrush. This is how it looks in the game in UE4, still not sure how…
Just a quick tutorial following (zshperes > zsketch > planar/flatten > surface noise) to get my first ever 'just' rock. I think it turned out alright, but part of me knows that you can put surface noise on anything and make it look like a rock. It only took like 15 minutes though, when I've got more time I want to try and…
Emoticon: wow, thanks very much for this. You gave a brief intro on what I need to research in the next couple of days. It really is more important to know what to look after, rather than looking around everywhere, unorganized. Cheers! :) AzzaMat: nice rocks you have there! Really dig it's stylized shape and that gradient…
Been chipping away at this rock smart material for a while. This stuff is hard! I've made quite a few smart materials before this one, but they ended up being a little more stylized than what I was pushing for. Hope this one looks a bit more convincing. Really works best with deep crags and heavier cleavage. Not so great…
I´ve been checking this thread for a while now. Amazing stuff! Finally I have something to share with you rock lovers :) This is going to be my next project and I made this rock formation that I´m going to turn into modular blocks. It´s going to be deep sea kind of environment with beautiful mermaids and angler fishes. My…
