Would someone care to show 3DS Max's version of material properties that would replicate Dota 2's visual appearance using the Slate Material Editor? This is what I could achieve in max: I know there is a Dota 2 Direct X Shader for this purpose, I'm just curious how it would be put together in max as a material.
Source does not support two sided materials, sorry. EDIT: I was corrected further down this page, Source does in fact support two-sided materials, but they do not want you using them for Dota2.
sure you can and it happened often enough, our waldi for instance has a "custom" material, as the original courier material creates strange purple spec and has no control over a lot of masks you usually can use.
Does anyone have a download or something to the Dota2 materials from the VPK file? My GCFScape is being a rat and won't read the pak01_dir correctly or extract the materials folder. The models folder extracted fine so I don't need that.
