A little tip on how to optimize the eye a bit. You should connect the edges like the example below instead of collapsing the edges to one point. It will make it easier on the engine to read lighting information as well as reduce the number of tris. Example. 8 sided circle would have 8 tris if you just collapsed the edge.…
That could be a problem with your internet connection, try not to download anything (or watch youtube videos etc.) while uploading the files. Also try renaming your file when resubmitting.
@Huston, try split up the 3 edges connecting at the tip and make them hard. Also, are anyone using MESA for Maya and are able to load animations? I would appreciate a quick guide.
Am I the only one who cant get into the game at the moment ? Whenever I try to open dota it just gets stuck saying "Connecting to the Dota 2 network..." Edit: nvm just had to restart steam -.-
Hey guys, well since I still don't have a proper internet connection, I'm working on items offline until I get something whenever... Anyway, would someone be happy to share their workflow for presentation of an item?
test your item using the "play with bots" its a local server. you will still need to connect to dota servers but the game itself will run on your machine awesome! loved it =] great Set Zaphk, working really well with naga
@DashXero You could always add more tris where the arms connect to the body, make it a watertight mesh there so you get nice deformation. Generally any area that deforms a lot could always use some more polys ^^
so you are almost there check the mask_1 and 2 every channel and with that page open as reference for example, the red channel on mask_2 is the specular, you can get only this channel and save as a new image and connect on the specular map slot on your 3dmax shader
