Last i checked Juggs source file downloaded from the requirements page was 10% smaller than the decompiled mesh when viewed in 3DSmax, not sure if this is whats causing your problem but it could be?
Sure you can export .FBX straight to ingame editor. Its a relatively smooth process and worked like a charm for a 3dsmax workflow, I didn't haveto open a single editor or textfile.
Hey all. What have I done wrong... I made the spear the same size as his default one from the fbx file in 3dsmax. scaling it bigger seems to have no effect on the size :/
got a questiong, but is mostly a confirmation I have seem in this thread someone mentioned that when baking normals with xnormal to put y to "-",meaning it have to be as x+ y- z+? because when I apply those normals in the object in 3dsmax it seems off,so maybe I thought I may be doing something wrong,or it just look that…
DimakSerpg : If you are using the 3dsmax, why you just dont import valve model first, then put yours and then move it on the old valve model with xform reseted. And then add bones. I have never had problem with this technique.
Hello guys, I'm newbie and I'm using 3dsmax to import SMD from Valve model, but it seems like it has problem with the axis position, anyone knows how to solve this problem? Or I just simply rotate 90 degrees?
Did a quick test and have a test object aligning ok at this end, Its getting pretty late here but i will have time to do a small guide tomorrow. Just to confirm your using 3dsmax?, importing .smd files and exporting .fbx?
I'm using the blue channel cause i baked the bent normal with 3d studio max...3dsmax uses a different coordination system where the vertical axis is Z and not Y, so in the end the vertical light information goes into the blue channel and not the green.
Hey guys, has anything changed with the Source 2 version of Dota when it comes to normals? Is Handplane with Source1 as a target still the preferred method? Seeing as they no longer use the 3DSMax inverted normal channel I am wondering if something else changed.
So like... I bought me an Intuos 5 medium size tablet. No more wrist pain and hopefully faster workflow. Any resources I should check to quickly adapt to using this on 3dsmax, mudbox, photoshop and generally? It did cost an arm and a leg though :S but no regrets.
