Just made the base only 1 and half hours of work, will be making the end connector and the pipes and wrap it up shouldn't take me to long to complete M.Peterson: The last connection connects 3 pipes instead of 2 (one of them splits into 2 to create that third one). Your main front connector isn't correct its symmetrical so…
Hey guys! Looking to get a little better at modeling challenging and complex shapes? Do you frequently have trouble with tricky geometry, and need to up your game? Just bored at work and want to kill some time? Well, You're in the right place! In 'The Weekly Hard Surface Challenge' complex and challenging geometry will be…
I'm going to aim to do all of these weekly challenges. Going to go through them all starting from week 1, but going to spend a week on them each so I don't rush. Creating a nut was harder, than I thought. The monthly noob and character challenge is currently set too high for me. But, this seems to have a good progression…
Yeah I made my a little thicker, I didn't like how thin it was. But thanks notice compared to ya mine was thicker. (You could switch it out, I keep mine at cm doesnt change much scale of 1 to scale of 2 is always going to be twice as big. When you create a primitive for example you needed a cylinder for this piece and you…
It wasn't too bad took me 2 hours less than the other pieces but was still was loads of fun. I love the design of the middle rim area looks like a awesome snow flake CoockedPeanut: Overall great job, the only minor area I spot is you have a good spacing where the air tube is connected but the same area above is a little…
Thanks commador ! You were right about the left tube, I correct some other scale too. I put wireframes this time :D I forgot it before. The part with "DV-I" is high res on the 2 screen because I collaps my modifier in max when I add the text, didn't think about the screen at this moment. The next piece is challenging, good…
Awesome,I've never even heard of HDR light studio. I had a look at some videos and it looks really cool. The only problem is I have a pretty old computer with a 32 bit system, so I'm not able to use any of the newer programs (like marmoset 2 or UE4 :( )until I can afford a new one. But I will try and download an earlier…
Commador, first of all been following this SubD stuff for a while. Awesome work and thanks! Been toying with SubD stuff a fair bit lately, figured I'd take the night off my personal project and have a crack at this. Took me about 2 hours so far, the shape and stuff is pretty complex. Most of the time spent was just…
Hi all, I was chatting to my friend Scott Homer(TM) about 5 days ago and he pointed me to this weekly hard surface challenge, we discussed it would be cool to give it a go and somehow got on to the topic of zbrush vs max. So in the interest of science we agreed to record/track our time on the creation of the asset to see…
Ekul, My process for tackling any hard-surface sculpt uses a blend of planer modeling and polygonal modeling. For overly complex shapes I block out the mesh with various pieces such as a cylinder for cylindrical parts. Once I have all of the basic shapes roughed in then I go through and attach the parts together and start…
