a little update, I still want to add other 80s design elements. I leaned a little away from the "alien" look in an effort to make it look less like a rip off and more like a homage. I'm gonna start projecting it onto the gun uvs soon.
Yes, 8 gigs is just not enough these days. I've 32gigs and am going to double it soon as it'sjust not enough. :) plus, it's dirt cheap. I always allow for future-proofing when I put a new rig together knowing I'll need more a ram sooner or later.....
Agreed. I'm going to start winding down on this and start focusing on making new portfolio stuff. There's still a few more scenes I'm pushing through but I'll be posting the portfolio stuff alongside this thread very soon. For now, here's a second scene I've just finished work on. :)
I would love to hear more about that too. I am happily using Configurator to create panels for CS5 and I am not planning to upgrade any time soon, but I'd love to know how to port these panels over to whatever version is current just for the sake of sharing.
we can start a new one, it looks like. I should be able to start participating soon. Im moving closer to work in the next month or 2, so my commute will go from 2 hours each way to 20 minutes. lots of extra time to animate!
Thanks @Zodd . Yeah, I checked the normals in other software and they looked fine. Marmoset was the only place they were getting distorted. There weren't very many loops in that spot, so when I added a few more the problem went away. I'll post more updates soon.
Hey guys! I updated some days ago my artstation with a recent freelance work. Also right know I'm doing some own designs with a lot of hard surface for my porfolio, will show soon here ;). More shots here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/keEw2
Hey guys thanks a ton! Looking at your paint overs has helped a lot, there will be another session today and I'll be making those adjustments and should have an update soon! @polymator It's alright the paint over you did especailly for the arms and the side view for the volume is very helpful!
Good start on getting your block out into Unreal. One thing that's not super clear right now is the white light source on the floor is coming from? I'd suggest you bring your car into the scene as soon as possible too. Can't wait to see where it goes next!
Out of Unity and Unreal, which is more user-friendly, and how soon could a novice pick it up? Does anyone know of anybody who could visualize something for me? I want to simulate an image that I can use as a reference for a painting. Weird request, I know.
