if you hold ctrl + alt it behaves like the old tool would. I don't think there is a way to set that as default. The last one I saw with a GPU was the HP tx2500. It had an ATI HD3000 in it. I know the new tablets are expensive but frankly drawing directly on the screen has definite advantages.
