I want to play too, to escape the current reality, that is why it trends to create a reality you would want to be in, filled with magic and super powers where you can fly and anything can happen, where you are a hero in your own story and escape this reality into the reality you always dreamed off.
^ Or what everyone else…
We need multiple versions of the lowpoly. Polycount and uvs are changing. We store everything in the highres to get a consistent look. We handpaint a decimated highres in mudbox with some Substance magic on top. Its much easier to paint a highres cause you can read the shapes much better. We wont work that way on a…
I though this was done with UV shell mask too, and requires an SVG or bitmap. Anyone know if there is a way to access the UV coordinates via code magic and auto generate a UV shell mask? I guess that may be flawed the way Designer works, you'd need to feed it a 3D model in a node.... guess baking it out makes sense in the…
Saw this thread a couple of days ago and wanted to contribute so here is my contribution. Celtic Support Tower: Celtic ritual tower which causes a small amount of magical damage while slowing enemies down, this allows other hard hitting towers to cause more damage to the enemies. Upgrading changes the stones and adds…
They have released the second part of the video that warhawk posted above: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/outcast-reboot-hd/outcast-reboot-hd/posts/832214 Sad that they will not reach their funding goal (unless they magically get $350.000 in 3 days). I hope they learn from this kickstarter campaign and try again when…
First and foremost it's important to understand exactly how normals work before deciding which one method is the best way to generate them. Know how to use all your given tools, and you'll get great results. I've seen fantastic artists work magic using just very little baking. http://www.philipk.net/tutorials.html
I'm not sure, have I? My base texture looks like this while my mask 1 (metalness, or should be) looks like this. The second mask is basically the same but color scaled to orange/yellow. Does it have to be UV-perfect? I just used the magic wand tool to select the different areas. There's no problems when attempting to…
Got something basic for the buildup on my iron maiden effect. It's 5 am, so I'll clean it up in a few hours. Any feedback on the speed of the chains? The idea was something like Xerath's ult, where he is anchored down for the duration while the ult executes. Also to give the idea that the sphere is controlling the…
@pmiller001: Everything is rendered in Blender* for now. Textures are first baked into needed maps (ao, light, whatever else) and then some magic is done in Photoshop. *It has realtime GLSL renderer, which gives results fairly the same to game engines. No PBR tho, but I finally plan to put this thing into Marmoset and…
I'm assuming that the diffuse alpha is used as a mask for a number of magic effects but the main thing that comes to mind would be the soul absorbing sequence. Notice how the wings go first and they appear to be the darkest areas on that map. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUDp2hDF0Kg"]Skyrim - Absorbing Dragon…
