I'm hoping I can complete this in time. The decision process for who to do was a monster but I finally decided on Dryad Soraka. Here is my initial idea sketch. Next is anatomy check/tidying with her final sketch. Then the background will be solidified and light source worked on. ANNNNNND finished! DA LINK
FIRST UPDATE : Pose to pose (very quick !) It started with some monsters animal moves, but then I realized... a minute is pretty damn long ! This is when it started to lead to some cartoony moves, it will be really random in the end :D [ame] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5ZtiBSbgyw[/ame]
I like how you can hit more of the monsters around you that just one or 2. I like DMC4 even tho it wasn't a really DMC directly. My fav is 3. This one looks promising! like inception universe meets DMC haha
Nice job Skizot! If you want to try you car and map in shockwave, ElysiumGX and I both have made games with this http://www.candointeractive.com/gamedesign/car/ ElysiumGX monster truck http://www.elysiumvisions.com/shockwave/monstertruck/ space track http://art.lee3dee.com/wip/shockwave/ExRacing2/
3dfx Voodoo2 12mb, I recommend Diamond Monster 3D ][ - It handles 3D (not 2d though) - It's "good" as in it doesn't suck as much as a savage card - it's 16bit color only with a max of 800x600 res in most cases - It's built to be only a secondary card - IT SHOULD BE CHEAP ASS HELL
Well normal-mapping still applies on these models, and afaik the doom 3 monsters were just lowpoly figures with heavy normal maps on them. sure they could have benefited from this technology as well. the back is supposed to be round but the silouette clearly gives away the lack of polys.
Thanks massbot, but i tried it out at the office monster pc, same story. I managed to finish it up from some obj's, but it would be nice with a medium res for tracing when I am making the lowpoly geo. Oh well, upgrade time, i guess!
Well, that's why I said working with extremely dense meshes is not a goid workflow. Everything slows to a crawl and becomes unmanageable unless you have a monster machine. Even scanning to parts and patching them together at high polycount is a nightmare. What asset are you working on?
I've sent you a PM about my interest to help with that like creating model of monster of duke or somenthing else but I can say to be a little better with modeling guns...let me know if you are interest . Sorry I'm Italian See ya Gaetano
Ok, I see what you did. Honestly the amount of nesting has got me slightly confused, but following your specs has gotten the results I needed. So I was able to get past this hurdle. Thank you very much Monster.
