no actually pretty much all of the technology you see in the trailer is already in the works, from bionic arms to optic camouflage. plus, after seeing the chinese build a 15 story building in 48 hours, even those huge buildings and futuristic cities seem plausible by 2017.
Many lawyers will offer brief phone consultations for low or no fee. I even get 4 15 minute consults per year as a benefit of my credit union. Might be worth checking to see if you have similar benefits somewhere or can find someone to call.
This is what I get when converting your heightmap to a normal map using nvidia's photoshop filter, strength around 15. It is only the normal map applied, no diffuse or anything: It is possible you may need to invert the green channel of your normal map (I had to)
I say take it if you are prepared to work for $15 an hour and eventually not receive any credit for your work. Its not like terrible harm will come your way if you have the right mindset going into it. Personally i would look for a more permanent thing but in this market...
great concept! if i didn't guess wrong, the concept is based on a quite old(maybe not that "old", about 15 years ago) Japanese cartoon called Saint Seiya. Then the statue should be Athena...and there are 12 buildings representing 12 astrology. but anyway, nice progress~keep on going
i kinda think you should change your system/display units so you can work at a non-microscopic scale. the default for this setting is like, 15. but if you can't do that then you can still instance your model and scale it up just for screenshots
15 years ago there were no schools for this. People forget that this industry is still very young and there will be a lot of growing pains that we will face (see VFX and their issues). You will have a hard time finding a lot of people who retired after a full career in video games at the moment ;)
Just saw the how many people thing. There were 3 consulting firms that worked on the project Little Zoo for Content Athos for Programming/In Engine Development DevSupport for Some Audio, content and in engine The Athos team was about 15 people. DevSupprt I believe was about 5?
My only problem is that the shoulder globes look like life-size F-15 engines bolted to her shoulders. I would personally scale them down, but the overall idea is cool. Definitely looks like it was manufactured by Wheatl--Er I mean Aperture Laboratories.
