Cool design man. Really like the values you're wrapping up. The specular is fairly nice, and the color blocking is working well. Nice work! When I first saw it, I thought of this guy.... [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdAbshyL2zU[/ame]
They had one of the best recruitment ideas I had seen: they gave out ipod nanos, custom engraved with each potential recruit's name, and a personalized message in MP3 form, all wrapped in multiple layers of boxes, each featuring some of their concept art.
Thanks GarageBay9, I'm going to post a texture break down later when I wrap up the scene. The shader is very simple I just have a constant set to 37 going into the spec power and a normal spec and diffuse texture. Beyond that there is nothing.
it seems like the cubemap is being applied, it just is not wrapping around the model the way it should. I think you have some wierd normals going on. Try setting all your normals to face and see if it looks correct besides the hard edges of course.
Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. I understand about the texture detail not being fitting. Perhaps I'll update that and release it in the future. To wrap up the project, I've included a youtube video in the first post. Some fun with animations, and triggers. Enjoy. :P
This is crazy cool. I saw your chair cushion in "What are you working on?" and I am assuming you can easily translate this in the same method to achieve that kind of result? As in the pattern will wraps around harsher curves just as easily? But this is really cool, it's like an advanced shrinkwrap.
I'd definitely suggest spending some time just wrapping your head around polygroups, along with zbrush's crease options (Tool: Geometry: Crease). I think those two things tie together quite well, and are important for doing hard surface shapes in zbrush
Model a plane and wrap it around the rock and then just put the tree and leaf texture on it probably the best solution if you want to save on poly count,is that area accessible if so its going to look bad from close up so you should try using LODs.
The colors of the metal pop a bit too much, maybe tone it down a bit or add some more wear and tear to the pieces. Also the texture on the metal plate saying "Fire Dept. or Police" looks a bit off. like it should wrap a bit tighter to that inside curve.
I think your right about the cloth Goraaz, it should be falling down pretty much vertically from the hip. Will be trying to wrap the sculpt up tonight. Did a polypaint face test as well to make sure that the features will hold up once the character is texturerd properly.
