Box mapping does not unfold the box. It does six planar maps. If you want an unfolded UV, use Pelt. Or use Planar on the whole thing, then break the edges where you want the seams, then Relax. When you can't edit anything, this usually means the modifier stack was in Sub-Object mode when you applied the UVW Unwrap…
Take it to pm! Heh. :) Zwebbie, you helped me in this thread, so I'd like to see you stick around and give input. There's nothing wrong with sharing your opinion even if it's "I don't like the design or subject matter" in a lot of cases. There's most likely people that share your sentiment regarding detail for the sake of…
Do you have good ref images of her original proportions? i would take a step back and address proportional and anatomical issues with yours. You also have her extremely bow legged which looks awkward. You wanna go with either one of two base poses, efficient for rigging/animation or relaxed for visual appeal. If it's just…
Hey gang! just a friendly reminder to those in Dallas, us local polycounters are meeting up to hang out and meet eachother. I know how easy it is to get absorbed into your work, and your computer, so this is an opportunity to get together talk shop and relax. I hope to see y'all there! and if you cant make this meetup…
Yeah, i've thought about start working in a more relaxed pose to. The ref images is in t-pose and the first basemesh i did was based on these images. If you'd read my first post i wrote that our assignment was to take a old piece we did and update it so to say. Ofc i know that the highpoly won't show in my lowpoly piece,…
A big reason for interviewing people is just to see if the employer will be able to get along with the interviewee. Show them your stuff, but try to actually carry on a conversation with the employer. Be professional, but let your personality shine through. Try not to be too stiff, and just remember that you're just…
It's definately fun and relaxing to work from such a famous concept. Glad you guys like the idea! Started on the actual work this afternoon. I want to block in most of the textures before starting on the model. Also I really don't know the meaning of the symbol I used on the back, let's hope its not offensive hehe. Anyone…
Most likely it's related to the IBL sampling which can have a fairly significant impact on perceived roughness without actually breaking the maths - in theory it can interfere with the amount and diffusion of the light coming from the sky It's something that can be worked around but I suspect that supporting panorama…
Ugh, I spent all day trying to fix this yesterday only to figure it out 5min after making this post... Anyway, the problem was the high poly itself, for some reason even though it was mirror'ed it had made a small seam in the center of the pillow. Not sure why, but the way it was mirror while going down the Y axis made it…
Hey dude! I think what ya have now is getting good! the vines really made a big difference. One thing i have to say at the moment is with the UV, I would relax the UV more so the smaller spaces have more 0:1 info then scale the whole thing up so it uses the most of the 0:1 as possible so it will look better. Keep it up!
