It seems like nobody has the balls to go all out Steampunk, it always has to be mixed with magic or fantasy. Hi, so far design is looking slick and neat. I would suggest you add some wiring and tightly packed network of pipes ( hydraulic fluid ). Also the arms that hold the top part of weapon look weak given the fact that weapons have recoil (in your case laser) but still what kind, Ion cannon, pulse cannon, rapid pew pew laser… -

Yup : Bend, Pathdeform, or Skinwrap. Should all iove you perfect results (Bend only if your reference is a pure cylinder section obviously) -
