Yes, Blender takes up very little space. Even the latest and greatest version is less than 15 megs unzipped. And you can always download an older version if you want it even smaller. I install Blender on every computer I use, just in case.
It has to be done, some games do them as completely separate meshes since the cars break and stuff. You're tagging the whole car as an alpha blended material/object. Do this for cars that are in the 15~20k poly range and you can see why a different material/mesh is needed.
Did you leave it up for more than 15 seconds? The 30+ hrs is just an estimate. The only thing I can think that might be slowing oyu down would be some kind of firewall setting that is hassling your download speeds through whatever port it is updating from.
The game looks cool, but not wow! As for that marketing style... yeah i have been there i tried to do that for glace. Most the sites i went to to try that wouldnt let me make a topic unless i had 10-15 posts. We could always try that here.

Photoshop either get an image or make it from scratch, sue find edges under the blend mode "multiply" set opacity to around say 15%, & use 2-3 different scenes of embossing, also at different opacities. Your normal maps will look fantastic.
yive spent about 15-20 hours on each but the trick is that i only model what we see in the images, so i plan my pose and camera angle in advance and i approach it more in a 2d concept design kind of way if that makes sence
thanks guys. working nicely apart form one thing..the extrude comes with 15 divisions by default? how do i set this to just one? This is what i have so far: bt0 = cmds.button( label='Extrude Face', width=203, command=cmds.PolyExtrude )
I agree with snafubar for what concern the glow on the rocks! They also could use some more color variation and definition. Try to add an autocontrast, a smart sharpen and paint some color with a soft brush on a color layer set to something like 10-15% opacity
thanks Kawe, you confirmed my own thinking after getting feedback from others... I'm going to break the tutorials up into parts... and make them more clear and focused. each video will be 15-20 min with an option to d/l the entire video
