maybe I will have a look tonight, see if I can wrap a script together that will add a editPoly modifier with outer edges of the UV shells converted to geo edges selected in the editPoly modifier ready to do stuff with.
More updates! Finishing up the station, getting the textures to really stand out and pushing the infected lighting in the direction I want. Gonna add a few more props and polish the materials more before wrapping this station up!
3December Day2: Reindeer wrapping paper. I know its not actually a model 3D model per say but I've been brushing up on substance designer and wanted to take a crack at making designs in the program.
yea, it's real. Like I said it happened right around here, I know all of the places they are talking about in the podcast. it's a very difficult case to wrap your head around, somewhat unnerving actually.
Some updates. Trying to get the sword wrapped up tonight or tomorrow, feeling pretty good overall though for my first real hand painted prop. Also thanks for the feedback and comments so far!
Really good improvement. Completely unrelated to the textures, but I wish the model was better and the textures fit better on it. IE: The way the roof texture kind of wraps around and falls off. Also the stretching on the well structure.
Last time I checked it was not interactive. Paint on the left edge and it wraps around and paints on the right side. So many other crappy 2D apps have this but they've never put it in... why adobe why!?
Thanks Josh, I might change it but right now its wrapped around a cylinder and there's a metal frame around it, its not really just stopping dead. Check out the top corner of this reference I used.
Changing it up a bit. I don't often do silhouettes, but a friend suggested using them. It can be difficult for me to loosen up and wrap my head around them, but I like where this is going.
Your method worked I can get the model out now but as far as deformers go I cant get out the clusters that contain my characters eyebrows or wrap deformers I'm assuming this is not possible....
