Awesome. I love the way your are detailing the accessories. The character looks good as a thumbnail/silhouette but at the same time you can zoom and enjoy de details. The face is weird, but it have so much personality and style at the same time. Did you sculpt the lace and then bake it? Or is it simple texturing + alpha? -

That comes with practice :) Try to do that face, the planes of the face - face, as much as you can until you can see where it differs. Look at images of the facial measurements (google) and learn how to measure the proportions of different parts of the face. The ears are important as landmarks to get the rest of the face… -

The armor is looking fine and progressing nicely, but the face still needs work. I think what is making the face look odd is that the elements of the face are not connecting, they just look like they're there. What I mean is, I can see you have an understanding of the proportions, placement, volume of the mouth,nose, and… -

@pior So I checked into the different modelling weights, and just for documents sake in case someone else comes down this road so to speak, the default angle and face weighted option that it is set on, is in fact the best option out of the others. It's 'auto weighting' is at its best out of the box default. =\ -

grass using custom lighting shader that fakes scattering through clumps of grass, uses world position to generate normal instead of faces. The meshes have []use twosided lighting and []shadow indirect only enabled. I'm playing 5ft radius clumps by hand with the static mesh placement tool -

lol sounds like he's got the ED209 Prime-Directive glitch going on, heh. I like the fact that he has no face, it could end up looking really "cyber" just like everything everyone makes. I'd say if you have to anything, make it more oldschool. -

Normal mapping works. Its a cheap method of faking detail. A problem I see in some games is overaly uniform use of normal maps - lumpy clothes look good, but you need to tone that down on faces. At the simplest level, just a meshsmooth with no extra detail will round out the lighting. -

this is pretty incredible stuff. I think the weakest thing I can see right now is the character's face, what reference are you using for her? I think you might have pushed the upturned eyes a bit too far. maybe tone it back down and then fake some of that look with makeup
