Gimme a lithe too big to ever use sword swinging magic wielding insane spiky haired emotional wreck asshole over a 30 tons of armor grunting only emotion is anger killing machine bald as a baby's rump asshole space marine any day. Awesome vid!
Planetside (1) was a huge influence for me that finally got me to start investigating 3d art (and at the same time Counter-Strike 1.5). Others that come to mind were Legend of Dragoon, FF8, FF10, Metal Gear series, etc. Then Gears of War came out and wrecked my life
In my opinion New Alexandria had a great style that I loved. Then again, I love white with colour thrown in. I love Sword Base but it feels weird coming back to a space and having it be wrecked. Still cool though. Can't decide whether or not I liked it better pristine
If you find yourself in a situation where everybody you know around you gets hired and you feel like you're left behind you need to start asking yourself why and what you can do in order to make it better. Usually it's portfolio issues, the portfolio is a door into the gaming industry. However the door needs to be pretty…
As the others have said, the modelling looks good from what I can tell? However talk about a jarring texture! Either go with a flat colour, or unwrap/texture it properly is what I'd suggest. Currently it's wrecking an otherwise good looking model.
Right on man, its looking great. What about dropping the normal map on the straw roof and doing an opacity pass on it instead? The bump wrecks it IMO and if it were more 'hairy', so to speak, I think it would have a nice contrast of surface types.
Disney and pixar have been using this system for years. So has the vfx industry. For instance check out this paper from wreck it ralph: http://disney-animation.s3.amazonaws.com/library/s2012_pbs_disney_brdf_notes_v2.pdf imo with 90% of whatever you do, physically based rendering is going to make it better and easier.
I'm sorry but I just can't get excited about news like this anymore. I would have been much happier if they announced something new like what James Cameron did with Avatar. Nonetheless I hope they don't screw it up like that train wreck Terminator Salvation!
ebagg: Just a car wreck involving a drunken driver... want some of the settlement $? :D Tumerboy: Yeah I've seen it, too many times probably. Exactly why I posted it - everyone told me I look like Tom from Office Space. :)
Oh wow...I haven't checked up on this thread since it was still on page 1. This has been an entertaining start to my morning. @ Dazz3r...keep it up man! Sorry to see you got looped into this train wreck. I wonder if it sunk in yet how badly this guy hurt his reputation.
