Is there away to avoid gaps in the UV space after youre done uving in Max? My environment scene has several object with 2k maps but most of them dont occupy all of the uv space, I have tried adjusting the padding setting but it didnt do much. Ill link image when I get back home.
Awesome work man. Site is clean and fast however there are few things i noticed: - it feels like you have too much empty space on your home page and that kind of makes me thing could the thumbs be bigger? - that wip occupying the first tab is probably not helping you all that much ? Besides this it all looks awesome :)
The product line keeps looking better, but imo until they make a 15" variant with basically zero bezel, these products are occupying too much of a designer chic territory. For the price I think you have to ask yourself, how much work am I really going to get done on one of these? I suppose it's different for 2d artists.
Renaud: Shit, NOW I recognise that parasyticmoon character! Blimey, that shit's so old I'm feeling a strong sense of nostalgia. Didn't realise parasyticmoon was still going, I thought it was abandonned a long time ago :s FatCaP: I love it, ton of character and clean as hell. Something I quickly started today to occupy my…
Yeah, but you can resize the RTT on the fly to reduce overhead, so when they occupy less screenspace (e.g. are far away), you can down-res them for the subsequent frames. You'll notice there are almost no textures in Antichamber, so there's plenty of budget going spare. Edit: Goddamn ninjas. I'm slow today.
This is highly dependent on your engine. Some engines will pack all of your tiny textures into a sheet for you before sending it to the graphics card. Also AFAIK the fact that they're small textures occupying little GPU memory doesn't help the texture calls. 16 texture calls is still going to be 16 texture calls.
Quick update: I think I have the idea down in my head of where I want to take it. - Pilot of some sort of space formula one vehicle - Suit design needs to look FAST I am occupied with graduating atm so I do not have a lot of time to put into it. More to come soon :)
enviro's look fine to me, but what do I know. That lead character though, deffo not designed to occupy as much screen res as it does in the trailer, the blue suit feels like a flat blue with a Ddo pass and that leather harness is nasty up close, but I'm sure that it will be just fine from a third person camera view.
Thank you :) For the moment i'm occupied with this little lady : And actually i'm doing the Sculpt in Zbrush, for the moment i think the body is almost done, i still need to do the arms but for now i'm on the the head.... Here the body if you have any cirts or suggections i'll be glad to hear them ! :) (I used Hazardous 's…
Cut it in several parts to make each one occupy more uv space or just uv only one section of it and clone it if you don't need a 100% unique texture for the mesh. Heck, you can take a half of each 'section' and mirror it horizontally even. Usually, the textures for such things are tiled and unique elements are added via…
