Hey guys! I have posted an 80 level article where I did a breakdown of this environment. Be sure to check it out! https://80.lv/articles/cathedral-of-the-dead-environment-production/
Hey Polycount, for those of you that are interested I recently did a piece for 80 Level about how I approached building this scene. https://80.lv/articles/recreating-warhammer-40k-style/
Check out this article on 80.lv for some more info about this scene :) If you have any other questions I'm happy to answer them here! https://80.lv/articles/building-artistic-environments-with-scanned-assets/
Made a diorama with an old ship. More at Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/zkdvq Wrote a bit about the process at 80 level: http://80.lv/articles/joel-zakrisson-mastering-3d-art/
I was asked to show some more breakdowns. A very detailed breakdown of the diorama is on 80 level: https://80.lv/articles/paris-diorama-the-power-of-details/ The diorama was made with a combination of photogrammetry (the tree) and classical sculpting (the door and wall). Here is a look into it:
20% of the people do 80% of the work! It's inescapable as far as I can tell. Best to be in the 20% though. Just make sure to be vocal, but not at an asshole, about it. Because you can be damn sure the 80% is vocal or they wouldn't be there.
I cant find reference of 80's surf clothing anywhere!! Ive googled, checked every reference thread on all the forums. Anybody please! If you have or know of where to get reference of 80's surf clothes and styles please post them! Thank you so much.
I think they're trying to say that they aren't sure if the design fits the theme of 70s and 80s sci-fi. It might be a good idea to look at the more futuristic themes of that era and integrate it into the more low-fi 80s theme you have going now.
