Thanks for coming out guys. This was really fun! A pleasure to see all your black and green faces. Now does anyone have any pictures? :D I totally forgot my camera and my cell phone camera is like half a megapixel :P
Might have to put this on hold for a bit while I wrap up some other things. Testing out some things with the lowpoly and wip textures. Skin was polypaint with some blemishes in ps. Did a couple different lighting setups for fun. Still a bunch to work on.
Nice work so far. As a beginner as well I recommend working from reference. Not necessarily following tutorials, but having something to go off of helps a lot. Once you've worked on your technical skills, you can have lots of fun with design!
Xiao, the expression and character portrayed in this piece is fun! I agree with Nick in regards to the flatness in the woman's face. She looks a bit like a doll. I can't help, but think of Chucky from Child's Play. :) The details in the ship are great. Keep up the great work!
Looking very good. I love the CRX. I had two of them in my younger years, very fun car. :) My only crit is the cars and train could use a touch of motion blur. Currently they all appear to be sitting in place going no where.
Now that was fun to watch! Thanks for taking the time to make the video. When you were making the tech gear in the back of the head I noticed a huge sudden jump in quality of the mesh, did you resurface that somewhere and then bring in back into the sculpt? Again, beautiful work! :)
Vesture of Unkindness - June 2014 Probably my favourite set to date, and first time collaborating with Zipf! Includes all sort of fun extras such as ability icons, full particles by Cory De La Torre and custom ultimate animations by Harry Boltz! (remember that guy?)
UPDATE Just made a ton of changes to the textures on this. I had a ton of fun revisiting a franchise that many of us hold as an inspiration. Here is a link to the file. Here is a link to my art station as well. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/m314-motion-tracker-alien-scanner
Definitely a good start. Good choice of scene, by the way. The shapes are all fairly simple and shouldn't be too much of a pain to UV. Those cogs are gonna be really fun to texture too. Keep it up, this was one of my favorite scenes of both those movies :P
My idea of creating something like would be like a heart beat monitor or something. I'd want the horizontal sweeping line and the fade-out effect on the visualized line :) Seems like a fun challenge to create. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVm8pFDxUjU&t=13s
