decided to take part in the CGHub: Bust a Move 3D Jam doing Don Cheadle as War Machine just started the base... gotta fix that nasty ass pole at the neck and form that area out better... could've sculpted this, but zbrush has spoiled me too much for heads, so i wanted to refresh on good old fashioned poly modeling
female head base for upcoming project, the project will be mostly hard surface, but i needed a female base to build off of, making doing things this way mostly unnecessary, but i wanted to get back into modeling from scratch and less retoping fun shapes from Zbrush. 4 hours in 2010 without plugins. Crits welcome on both…
Muzz I like the eyes man!! cool colors too! d1ver, Glad to see a different subject than usual in this thread, keep the good work. here is a wip, actually is my first time doing any hardsurface straightly in zbrush, I am working on a dinosaur character and I thought to make the crane mixed with some sci-fi prosthesis…
Cheers, will get those points looked at :) I was intending on detatching the quads in modo after the sculpt's done, but it turned out easy enough to do inside of ZBrush. I'll thicken up the divide so it's more obvious. I think it's some sort of thick rubber rather than armour plating. Still to do the wrappings and bandages…
I just always thought that things were more predictable if done in quads, but since Airborn is in UDK, I know that the mesh has to be in tris, as opposed to Zbrush, where it works smoother in quads...So I guess in the end, it goes back to whatever gets the job done...nice cat btw and I like how you arrived at the…
There's always cool stuff here. Hopefully, I can contribute a little with this one. This was something I did trying to learn how to use Zbrush. I just went back and tried to clean it up and make it a little better. This is just the decimated version rendered out of Max. I plan on continuing this and finishing out the rest…
A little old now, but decided to show this here. Started as a Voxel sculpt in 3D Coat. Retopo/UV'd in 3DC, projected vox details, finished & polypainted in Zbrush. Also trying to get displacement to work nicely from ZB3.5-->Max but not getting sharp results. Any tips in that area would be appreciated. Expressions are just…
Ah I see what you mean now and I know what I did wrong, I was sculpting it at a low level of subdivisions in zbrush and it looked rather faceted like metal so I was happy with the result but when I baked it the mesh had smoothing groups and must have turned all the sharp edges smooth. Thanks for the crit Ill learn not to…
played around with lighting and material stuff yesterday, mostly just midres meshes or basemeshes from zbrush, besides the polypaint on her face no textures going on, just some quickly applied procedurals as i changed some of the proportions there is still stuff to clean up, the body intersects with the jacket and hoody…
I wrote taht in 2009 on my sketchbook on the 3dcoat boards "Voxel is very nice for prototyping, but i have such an hard time to get strong sculpting :/ I need to pass the feeling of "its too soft to work with"." You should try it again, the last few betas are a big leap forward in brush feeling, I don't use zbrush much…
