disregard shit topology? :D feel like i did something wrong here. did you use merge in proboolean, or did you attatch them and then weld a load of verts? i feel like the second method might work better.
I never understood how I could start something like this or make its details like this and still have a smooth topology. The way the rim of it on the front would creep into the original structure and have a bunch of new details. In b4 more geo
Actually I applied my smooth as I thought it looked good and then moved on. Your picture is what my preview smooth looked like and then after applying it I noticed the errors.. Im curious to what your geo looked like before you preview smoothed it. This is what my low poly looked like (I pressed 3 to preview, looked good,…
Subdiv levels? also this might be the wrong shape not that matter for the topology... if you'r doing straight low poly this is not an issue, just add more geo at strategic areas like corners... If you plan to do SubD : In the area you circled theres like a sharp edge but it continues all the way in the handle, just model…
I'm just not sure where to start. I can't even draw it accurately, wireframe or otherwise. I'm not worried about the small details like the mesh or the wires and extra plating on the underside for the screws. I would mainly like to know how to get the shape of this.
Yeah I knew they were actual holes. Like Mystichobo said, they'll bake much better like that and I wont have to use 1000's of tris on the low poly to create the holes. Wouldn't really see them anyway in first person.
