If you are interested in both characters and environments, you could always incorporate the characters into an environment as statues. Kinda what I'm in the process of doing. Granted the low poly work will be different because they won't need to support deformation, but the sculpting will be quite similar.
relative transform should do what you're looking for (in the status line, by default set to absolute transform) e: scaling in world space that is if you're looking to scale in object space you could use the scale mel command to do that for you.
looks pretty cool, i would maybe throw an SSS shader on that little statue, since I'm assuming it's jade and a bit of SSS would help sell it. Unless you already have one on it, in which case maybe ramp it up.
This is what has been said on their official twitter: https://twitter.com/22Cans/status/378954011858440192 Two things are probably true though: the pr fallout made them reconsider the gemshop for the pc version AND: the mobile version will most likely have a gemshop.
I've been trying to make an environment, but it's haunted. This art just started showing up. I did some screen grabs. These monsters. They've been haunting me at night. https://twitter.com/ChrisHoldenDev/status/239301980462395393/photo/1/large
hmmm... to subtle? :P Not literally a ruby, of course - emeralds or sapphires might be a better fit for the scene. The ancient Greeks were known to embellish their statues with gems, precious metals, ivory, and rare woods, so the idea isn't quite as outlandish as it sounds.
AAAhhhh, those evil spirit kids look really creepy. Also, the chosain entry statue kind of looks like a Cthulhu/elephant wearing a top hat, which I am fairly certain, makes it cooler. Great artwork guys.
looks pretty boss! one thing that my mentor told me is that your portfolio will always be critiqued for what you don't have. an architectural piece like a statue or architectural ornament perhaps? vs the character oddworld WIP. just a suggestion :)
Post a facebook status asking this question? Blog post? Why you need people on here to tell you what to do is beyond me... I guess you could shop around on line for the cheapest components for your new pc.
crazyfingers- thanks, i would put rock statue detail on him....except this is the gargoyle from the show gargoyles from the 90's....and although they do turn into stone..he's not stone in this sculpt. I wanted to do a lively sculpt of lexington.
