My limitation is that I can write Actions but don't know the syntax of Scripts, so adding logic to a save command is a bit beyond me. I agree though, it's easy enough to distinguish on paper. Another thing I noticed is that if you open a PNG with alpha, you can modify and resave it without error; the name only changes if…
To my understanding the remesh modifier is used for example when you have mesh with big variance in density that you want to sculp on. Blender has a decimate modifier, which will more likely keep the edges on a hard surface model, but it will not give you the result as seen in your examples as well. As NoRank wrote, this…
Hi everyone. Very nice to be here. I joined because I am a programmer that is totally inept at doing 3ds max, and yet I have to convert models to use with the mod I am doing for planetary annihilation. :) PS. If anyone know how I can merge a Sword object that has no skin modifier, into a Body object that has a skin…
would not have been the case with texTools, (because it forces UV channel 1 by default on each unwrapUVW modifier) though what would interest me, did you by any change played with the UV channel yourself or was it caused by the import (maybe your imported model had 2 channels or more and max for some reason used channel >…
Thank you for your reply. I've now attached the head back in another "edit poly" modifier. However, the morpher is still broken. Yes... the teeth were part of the morpher base head. Do you think that's were the problem lies? Shall I go ahead and make new morph heads? However, when deleting the old morpher modifier. The…
You need to move the cloned pieces out side of the live area when you bake. Its baking each copy/clone to the same space. To get around that you just need to leave one in the live area, bake and then move the others back. A quick way to do this is to save your layout move your pieces, bake, and load the saved layout. Or…
I have tried the skinwrap modifier before, but somehow it did not gave me the control about the high poly mesh I wanted to deform . I am looking for some kind of reverse subdivision modelling, when you only have the high poly left and you want to deform/modelling the general shape of the objects with a new lowpoly cage.…
In all honesty, what I've been doing recently is just using a sim for the base mesh of the cloth (then adding a solidify modifier in Blender, or a shell modifier in Max). This can be fairly coarse. From there I subdivide and get in the details, but it's much easier with the weight and basic forms already established. The…
If you add an Unwrap UVW modifier to an Edit Poly object with no sub-selection, you can press F2 to hide and unhide your red wireframe selection. If you select a bunch of faces first and THEN add your Unwrap UVW modifier, pressing F2 does nothing. Therefore, I add my Unwrap UVW without a sub-selection every time, and use…
I only want 2 things out of a new max (aside all the crashing and ram hogging). 1. Make it select the (&*^ing mesh Im clicking on, not the one on the other end of the scene 2. Mini Games and unlockable modifiers. Every 2 hours or so a Mario Party style minigame pops up, and the better you do, the more modifiers you get.…
