Just a reminder that this is still going: http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Game_Art_Examples Last couple of weeks - 5 new dumps: (just click the images) Magically, all games starting with a "W" If you ever find an art dump that you think needs to be added to the wiki just post here or PM me. cheers
Yeah thinking about selling mine as well, future doesn't look too good for A mount. I don't have too much invested, but better to get the most for it now, than nothing later down the line unless somehow Sony magically bring out something special to warrant investing in A mount.
Do you also tell them you’re a “Senior Environment Artist” or “Art Director” like you tell the Artstation community? Its like when I tell people I’m the Sorcerer Supreme and spend my days protecting the Earth from magical threats. Conversational dead end. No idea why.
I dig the frankenstein and spaceman characters, maybe you could go back and add some of the nice hue shifts and colored lighting that are working well in those two into some of the other pieces. For example, maybe the resurrection shrine could have a magical glow under lighting the sphere and implying a power source?
The dash is great, really looking forward to seeing this one develop a bit more. Maybe make the pose a bit more snarky, open up the chest, have him look down on the guy before he blows the magic out. Keep it up man, this new character is really grabbing my attention :)
I had the opposite happen to me over the last week - some ".0.1" update of Nvidia drivers magically made Maya 2009 glitch free for the first time in months. I tried a badass fireGL earlier but it was crawling when trying to run complex shaders. In that regard I'd recommend a decent Nvidia.
Ok got the base modeled today, It's my first character, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out although there's gonna need to be a whole lot of ZBrush magic happening to get it looking great. If anyone wants to crit about proportions, downright obvious problems etc, that'd be great at this stage! Thanks
Thanks for the replies ..yea I was having a bit of trouble getting those legs to look right. I decided to leave them and hope they would magically fix themselves.. i guess not :] I don't usually color the drawings but I've been messing around with it more to hopefully help the contrast or a similar effect
This scene is going to town!, just awsome :) No real critiscism except for the orange light on top of the thing, can't really read where thats coming from. by the way did you add those glow pieces around the white lights trough an alpha mapped plane? Or is it just a litle bit of PS magic:)?
True that some of the parts in this test trailer are unrefined (I particularly do not like the eye shots in the beginning), but I think that I will love the end product no matter what. I might not be able to play it until six years later due to a lack of PS3, but still. Team Ico is just magical somehow.
