Well, the MBP is a nice laptop with a pleasant OS. But for work with the software you mention the (stationary) PC will be the better choice. Besides, none of those programs are any fun at all on a 15-inch monitor on the go so I don't quite see the appeal to get a laptop for them.
Oglu, that is a relatively new development. It was added to maya 2014, right? which was released 15-20 days ago... Maybe it has had it for longer in plug-in form but not natively until now? I would still give it a few months until they work out most of the bugs.
I did this for fun, at my own pace, but I want to make many of these and start selling them for other people to use! Gonna sell this for $15 and see what happens! :-0 But I want to make a whole set, so they can go together in the same project!
I'm mostly done with the left side, here are some screens. I tried to keep the wear at a moderate level, sort of what 15 weeks of heavy usage will get you. Much of the dirt is supposed to be grease from cleaning the weapon, that's why there is some "glitter" in the dirty spots.
I really liked the environments, but I don't know if the gameplay is going to be enough to keep me interested. My pc froze up after I changed the video settings about 15 minutes into the demo. What did everyone else think? Was it worth finishing up?
That's not doable via Substance Designer, you will have to move your Windows Temp folder to another drive instead. See : https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/astebner/2006/01/15/how-to-change-the-temporary-folder-if-you-run-out-of-space-while-burning-a-dvd-in-media-center/
A developer's wife tells him, "Go to the store and buy a gallon of milk and if there's eggs, buy a dozen." He comes back with 12 gallons of milk. ------ * Heat small pot of water to a boil * Add developer's keyboard * Let boil for 15 minutes, stir occasionally Cheeto soup.
@tuxmask75- We've been pretty good about shipping regular bug fixes, compatibility updates, and performance improvements. We support about 15 months worth of engine updates and try to get updates for new engine versions out within 2 weeks of release. --Pete
no worries, I was playing with my swamp water when the thought struck. Had just spent 15 min purging materials and other things trying to figure out why the sun was casting a big black splotch across the water. turns out the specular was set to black.
Hmm, I thought all these incremental UDK updates were, technically, Unreal Engine 4? What else could they possibly have tucked away that needs a whole new version number for it? Fancier SSS? (and if following recent trends, add about 15 more S's to that.)
