little hairtest with fibremesh - took about 35 mins, no polygroups, 1 big scalp using move tool and groomer hair toss obviously I could go a lot further, but I finally found a way to do this relatively painless - mask out bits of the hair then move it out with the move tool to get more clumping
So its more like a modifier? Like the Chamfer modifier rather than the edit poly tool? I want to go to modo, are there any other cool tools for sub-d? If there were some awesome video series like an Eat3d Guide to Modo, it be using it in no time flat. Anything you can suggest Pedro?
So I tried to bake Diffuse (Color IDs) and that's the result: Hard to give good advice how to replicate it because I just used default cube. Played around with colors, hit bake, got nothing (or whatever the image above shows) :( Cool to see this tool being so rapidly developed. Also it's good to be using your tools again :)
I think you could even use the scatter tool if your having to place that many of them. Just select the polys and I believe the scatter tool has the ability to place an object on each poly... cant remember if it will align to its normals though... havent used it in ages. Edit: Just took a look at the scatter thing and its…
Peris : you could even do that simple starter shape straight in 3DC, using the voxel drawing tool "in mid air". It's very cool! I hope there will be a wire cutter tool soon. Like, you just draw a stroke in screen mode and it slices the voxel mesh in half, deleting one half. Can't wait to buy the app and then suggest that…
Woooot made a quick and dirty bronze texture to test the workflow. I noticed a few problems. 1) I had this weird thing where my mesh went invisible even though it was still in the scene. This happened after I was bouncing around a few of the secondary specular and reflection options. 2) The toolbag logo moves when I hit…
How can you dislike a movie just because of Ben Affleck, considering the fact that Ben Affleck isn't even in the fucking movie!!!? And I wouldn't consider that a generic alt rock sound track. Tool and APC have made their mark by avoiding the generic label. Good choice for the trailer I believe, but not sure how the song…
Brad : this Uv transfer thing has been available in Max and Maya for a couple years now, it's a bit sad that many users don't know about it (even at pro level) To reiterate what Podman pointed out : So let's say you have an object with messy UVs, let's call it objectA. Make a copy of this mesh, called objectB, and give it…
That tool helps you to reverse engineer the format - it won't do it for you. (fwiw - this is a very cool tool and I have grabbed it) https://mr.game-viewer.org/tutorial.php The guide explains how to do it but it's not a simple process - you're going to need to spend quite a long time trying to get each stage working and it…
Cool dude. Hell, so much speed improvement. Probably 200x faster than max tools :D . Soon it will execute before pressing a button. Yes it replaces textools. It's a must have for uv'ing imo. Eventhough you'd think it's redundant with some max tools, it does it better and faster (eg align to edge, normalize, all expands…
