small update but one nonetheless. add some lights and the control station, tried out some decals for below the leaves and as always tweaking the lighting as I go
Think about where the dust and other decals will be. You are just spreading them randomly across the door. Observe the texture on this http://www.lonewolf3d.com/images/Hawken/Hawken_mech_M06_textured_lonewolf_front.jpg
Try this thread, has many discusions about the workflow...cons and pros etc. https://polycount.com/discussion/155894/decal-technique-from-star-citizen/p1
Looks really good. Only thing its missing is some good old ddd: dirt, dust and damage. But that would be a separate thing, like a decal pack or something.
Getting paint and decals on it, still have more planned but this is where its headed. Red arrows are looking half invisible for some reason, need to figure out why.
Alright, i believe im done with this thing unless anyone has some final cc's. But added some last minute decals and shtuff. Any comments are welcome :)
Looks to me like they have vertex color blending to mix tiles together, along with a decal system and possibly some floating geometry. But that's just my best guess.
Agreed with the others, variation in the wood material via, different materials/vertex painting/decals/whatever would be good. Otherwise nice work, reminds me of The Witcher 3.
i'd interpret the face as being part of it and not a decal. as it looks shaded and protruding. however its good that you've re-rebuilt it, as it now looks LOADS better! well done!
