Hi AstroZombie there are two alternatives that I know of: Comodo http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/index.html and Online Armor http://www.tallemu.com/free-firewall-protection-software.html If you go with Comodo with Defense+ enabled be ready for a ton of security popups. Supposedly Online Armor is a bit more user…
If you right click the viewport title "perspective" if there is a "transparencies" option you can adjust it to simple or best. If its not there, then more then likely it was added into a newer version of 3dsmax and doesn't support transparencies in the view port =/ One other thing you can try is make sure that the…
Indeed, you guessed it correctly. Welcome to Polycount. Here you will find the essential needs to buff up your 3d skills. Post your work and have them criticized by the pros and crack smokers/sniffers. This will enable you to see your mistakes and learn from them. Enjoy your stay. :)
Enable autosmooth and set it to 180, and clear any custom normals data that may have been imported (unless desired of course, like if the model had been made with custom FWNs). (ignore the fact that it mentions "Split" normals, that's a mistake in label. It will remove any custom normals data, regardless of them being…
hmmm - my only guess ( without the scene ) is that during the skinning process of the wing parts ( those which get offset at reload ) you have introduced some unintentional translation to the mesh, or similar does the geometry jump when you toggle (enable/disable) the skin modifier on that part ?
Additive blending is no longer supported in Toolbag. What you'll likely want to use is Refraction or Thin Surface for the outer shell of the eye. You can enable either mode in the Transmission panel in the Material Editor. You may want to select the shell mesh and disable shadow casting on it as well.
Currently playing this on xbox 360, it's the first Fallout for me and I'm finding it very impressive, infact I'm hopelessly addicted:poly142: FPS roleplay enables ass kicking with more interesting developments compared to your standard shooter, I love this genre so hats off to the dev team!
Thanks! Believe it or not all these renders aside from the blue one are screens of the max viewport. I have a simple light setup with one white key and two rims that are blue and orange. I also have viewport AO enabled. The grip will be refined once I get the chance.
Instead of randomly tessellating, you could try subdividing a few times with "smoothing groups" enabled. You can also try manually inserting some verts on top of the details . If you want to avoid the distortion, the normal direction on the details areas on the lowpoly should be perpendicular to its surface.
Press F3 and F4 and the viewport has a shaded wireframe. Change the object color to black (for the wire color), and apply a material to set the shaded color. To render with a wireframe overlay, Clone the model as a Reference, add a Push modifier with a small value, apply a Standard material to the clone and enable Wire.
