Some more information might help such as what version of Maya are you using at home, what version is the school using, a crash report, what hardware you have, polycount of scene, ect. Okay, thanks. The deselecting part is pretty critical :/ I can totally live without push/pull, but not beeing able to deselect something is bad. I like using UVLayout from Headus (you can get their demo version for 30 days). I think someone mentioned XnView thumbnailing obj or some other popular format? Might be worth looking into. I know Autodesk made a Quicktime FBX preview plug-in. Also level tools for Maya uses a library/thumbnail system to display objs, might be handy. There's probably something similar for Max. But sounds like the point… -
