Copy and merge all you layers and then add a sharpen modifier to that layer. Helped me out a lot in school.

Thanks for your help! Great advice! Appreciate it! The problem was solved by selectiing the vertices and applying a low tolerance merge.

Odd that duplicate doesn't duplicate correctly. Maybe there's an option to save the scene as something different, and merge it back with the original?

Update: There's a gap in the teeth because the subtools kept connecting in the middle, but I'll merge them all for the low poly.

thats either compressed faces OR verts that havent been merged, have you tried pulling them apart?

maybe if you saved the current configuration to your maxstart.max (was that what it was called?), and 'merged' the old scenes into a fresh one?

Thanks! Not really intended to be actually used in games. For a mere barrel in most cases it is indeed a bit too much :)
