When doing funky animated shader effects earlier this week in Maya I just added values to the stream between the "node" and "AifBempty" in that network (one step to the right of where you've plugged in your solution now). Worked well for me. The Vertex Shader Grp node looks similar(identical?) in Maya.
Rick thanks for the tips, I was to lazy to optimize the reflection, it was more for fun then anything else. I thought about the streams, didnt know if it would take too much away from the scene so i didnt do it, and was lazy. If i ever open it up agia i will add them, thanks!
Yeah this might come as a shock to you, but theres this thing called 'personal preference', you should look it up sometime. Too many of your posts come across with a "if you don't do it the way I do, you're doing it wrong" vibe. streaming tut atm, will check out after dinner :)
Nope, but you can share over the network. I recommend TVersity. It's an awesome app that allows you to share pictures, video, and music. It transcodes all video to WMV on the fly, so you can stream all your divx/xvid/mpg/qt videos with no problem. I absolutely love it. And it's FREE!
You love it. :D Doh! Right you are! >< Fixed and fixed. edit: Echoing what slum said. Also, Justin_Meisse has been doing some Livestream feeds recently. You would find value in that as well. Justin! Hop in here and tell us when your next stream is! :)
Stuff looks amazing as usual!! So much amazing detail. Thanks for keeping a steady stream of awesome flowing into this thread. :P I have to ask though, what drove the decision to cut the characters up into pieces? Is it easier to rig that way or was it a matter of reusing pieces like feet and arms?
Ok, these are good images :) From there I think that a good thing to do is to trace back where they are coming from - Right of the bat I am thinking FLCL and Frazetta ... So a good idea would be to read/watch some Fuliculi, and track a stream of Fire and Ice as well as Painting with Fire :)
This also can depend on the engine. Our engine at my work relies heavily on streaming and really large textures often presented issues with that. It's really a balancing act, you don't want your textures to be too big but you also don't want a huge number of small textures either.
Sounds cool. Is it all three games will be completed by the same Runner, but they'll have multiple runs going on? I agree AGDQ and SGDQ are awesome to watch. You guys can also check out http://www.speedrunslive.com/ and probably find someone streaming some classic game you're familiar with.
Hey everyone! I wanted to inform you all that my Twitch channel is up and I'm going to be streaming the game's development 30+ hours a week. So please feel free to drop in, hangout, and ask any questions you may have. Twitch Channel : http://www.twitch.tv/paperbagcrusher
