I made some PBR charts for internal use a few months back and they've now been released to the wild! Values courtesy of Quixel, Allegorithmic and internal data. You can grab both the Specular and Metallic variants of the charts as high res png and pdf files here:…
We've just done a lot of rework on our golf score tracking site, I'll bet a few of you play or have family that. http://www.egolfcard.com/ Its 100% free, and the one remaining advert is being removed - a waste of space, we are putting in an RSS golf news feed instead. Normal service will resume in 15 seconds.
I will second the motion for a local shop if you have a good one. I have had same day service on a comp I bought that the shop had built themselves and also getting replacement parts if needed is a breeze because they are usually in stock, plus upgrading is also easy as well.
@almighty_gir : this is a service not a tool so it is available to anyone who can afford it and you can get an estimation if you send your info to the mail provided @littleclaude : this model is hand sculpted and textured by mixing both painting and photo reference , thanks for the share :D @Sunray : Thank you !
Didn't they just announce UDK for mac? As for the rip off part, well it really just depends what you are willing to pay for. I am willing to pay extra for better build quality, better customer service, and a better trackpad (on the laptops.. Can never use a regular trackpad again).
Not free, but for similar price to what it would cost in petrol/bus fare. It's a really good service, next day delivery and any out of stock items usually are replaced by bigger packs/better quality product for the same price as what you ordered. Very rarely is there things completely missing
hello, purchased your script yesterday, but i get this error: ...maya/2016/scripts/LaunchQuickPipe.mel line 1891: Invalid file type specified: FBX this error prevents me from switching out the custom profiles. i'm running maya 2016 with service pack 4. thank you.
I'd definitely want to see a good database of PBR material values. Right now it's all over the place and very confusing for a simple artist. This stuff needs to be streamlined and I'll gladly pay for a subscription to a service that could provide all this information I need to make materials I want.
Good job everyone. This thread is really great. Btw, I have one request to you. Can you write the price of 3d printing service you used for your models (like Shapeways etc.). I think it can help other people estimate cost for their own models.
If you have remote team members, checkout freedcamp or onenote. Or similar free services. Tools like those lets you organize your docs and project messages (to-do lists, task assigning, etc). Google drive to hold images and refs. Twitter helps too. Good luck.
