Your post is interesting, monster. Are you crediting scrum with the lack of crunch at your studio? We do a form of scrum here and I can't say as I've ever found it all that useful. But maybe we're doing it incorrectly.
it's unusual to see someone doing a sculpt that is the opposite to looking like a giant blob monster,, i think maybe a bit too hard edged. allmost looking a little robotic between the shoulders and the chest. but overall, great sculpt :)

What I got from Braid is we can be monsters without even realizing it, and what makes us good or evil is the light that we are portrayed in, kinda deep for an indy game. I really liked it as a game too.
Depending on how your UVs are layed out, after import to Max you could set smoothing groups from UV seams using this tool by monster. There's also this post from Blenderartist forums that may help.
