Just a suggestion, have less empty space in your screenshots :) That stone looks nice but it's very small. Considering you have a 1920x1080 image, the stone is 1/4th of the image, if that. It would make it easier to see your work if the stones was larger. Same goes for the pillar you posted.
I posted my entry in the topic start of the thread at 10 on the 17th. (2 hours early). Is that a problem? I now am thinking that I probably should have posted in the thread itself. I guess you can check the time of my finished post and time of the images?
Only the 1995ish early low textured polygon games don't age well (especially with affine texturing it looks really bad on the PSX side, combined with low framerates of the 4 major 5th gen consoles). Anything before in 2D or PS2+ era seem to age a lot better.
well the most basic method which works good in most cases is to model it as simple polygons. Then apply a shell modifier (3ds max) or sth similar to give it thickness and then apply some subdivision (e.g. turbosmooth in max) to make it smooth and round the edges. The are more ways to do it of course ...
oh, just re-reading the comp rules. "Since we have the new bloom deadline till January 17th, we at polycount decided to extend the contest to match the newbloom event, but we are keeping the prizes for the original deadline" Isn't the New Bloom event due on the January 19th?

Well, I normally have a server going. But it's just household cable that my friends around the area get good ping, but i'm doubting anyone else would get terrific speeds. So, anytime really works for me before september 27th. <---- Is my average suit.
