So I was watching all the videos of this monkey statue thinking, what really is this? I'm not keen at all! Then that animation sold it for me! Admittedly as you say it need some touch ups an polish but I just love the concept! Nice job

Make sure that you haven't accidentally switched off construction history. The icon looks like a piece of paper with a small clock in the top left corner (Maya 2009). It lives near the right side of the status line, next to the render buttons.
If I was going into Charcter Art, I would love to make something in the form of a marble statue. Even if you ignore the job aspect of it, it magnifies you can still build a piece around anatomy and have it stand out on its own.
here is just a new gun, it gonna be the last one, for creating this one i used a little bit of my creativity to sculpt a gun from scratch then retopologized it in zbrush and painted in 3ds Max. next i will work on some status and busts ....
I don't know if you are aware, but in japanese houses, there are very few places on the floor, that are actually covered with wood. Depending on status of owner and so forth, usually vast parts of the floor are covered in tatami mats (by which the room size is calculated).
Fantastic work. A wonderful balance of detail and restraint. Just curious, did all the statues start as high-poly sculpts? I love the faceted look of them in-game, and would never have suspected that level of detail was ever a part of the workflow.
Great update ! Inspirational ;) I made a quick paint for one background.... Well, i think it's a little boring to see too much plain walls....or a least think about some alcoves with statues or small fountains...my two cents...:)
Yeah your polygon menu set is missing. Not sure what the thing is to bring it back :S though I know F3 is the polygon menu set. EDIT: Found it. Its Display -> Ui elements -> Status Line.
