@Manticora Oh I am so stupid!!! Totally forgot to use Zbrush for the cloth... Thanks for posting your workflow on the cloth, it looks awesome. Are you using UDK? If so you can increase lighting on trees without changing the shadows. It looks great but if you were to put a little more time in tweaking the shadows I would…
Hey guys, ok now that i have the layout finished, i'm going to be adding in wires, pipes etc, but with certain parts i want some physics to be visable, cloth etc. One of the things i'd like to have is hanging wires that sway with wind. What would be the best way to go about this? I've thought about possibly using cloth for…
Saw it and it was good. My previous criticisms about the visuals are null and void. I did believe they were aliens, and with the crisp 3D visuals their clothes(you could see the threads that the clothes were made of), hair, skin looked so good I could almost feel them. I still dont like some of the designs, the mechs were…
I had thought of cloth sim and also found some examples done with a cloth sim, which would solve alot of my problems.. but it i wouldnt be able to export the animation out to udk, would i? The structure, like you said is pretty straight forward.. i didnt think painting the weight of the structure was gonna work. Here is a…
I believe your first intuition is correct =) If those parts are not showing ever, why keep them? Also, once you delete, i believe it is also wise to weld the edges of the clothes to the body part. If the character is going to be shown this way all the time (for instance, there will be no simulation of cloth which could…
I would recommend re-UVing this. Since its cloth I would try to split the UVs up based on how the cloth flows to help hide the seams. In Maya you can toggle 'Texture Borders' by shift-right clicking in the UV window, this can help you visualize how your seams are flowing in 3D. Lastly, don't paint over seams in the normal…
not to be an elitist but if it was a manga character it should be in grayscale with black dots for shading :P REGARDLESS. NIce job you've done here. I'd love to see more details on the clothing though. Some stitching in the clothes, some fabric texture, maybe frays at the bottom of the robe, different kinds of reflection…
The cloth looks fairly good now (although the folds aren't showing up as well on the trousers compared to his shirt, it seems). However you have some underlying proportions issues that should be fixable in the lowpoly - notably his arms are too short, his legs are to long and his feet are huuuge. Given the fact that his…
Alright, I made a character sheet.I wasn't go to put it up at first because they are one of my weaker areas, but if I'm willing to take critique on my 3D work I should let people critique my 2D work as well >.< I left his top clothing off because I wanted to use the orthographic views for reference. I want to create this…
Some decent things overall, but the clothing is a little too wrinkly, I think, and don't make sense in some places. The thumbs seem too small, and his arm in general is shaped oddly. It might be worth stepping down to a lower subdivision level to tweak the shapes and proportions. A pet peeve of mine about clothing: the…
